Sunscreen lotions-MUST MUST use daily product This is an inevitable skin product and it’s a MUST…MUST…. MUST use product in a day to day skin care regimen. It’s a wrong conception that you need to use sunscreen only if your on the beach or outdoors…..Think again!!!!
Ultra violet rays exposure occur every single day even if you don’t go outside..the rays can even come through your windows, even if your driving back and forth from work and even during winter. Exposure to harmful UV rays can lead to skin aging, dark spots and most importantly and the major risk factor for skin cancer. It’s very important that when you buy sunscreen lotion the SPF needs to be greater than SPF 30.
SPF or sun protector factor is the measure of the UV rays/ solar energy to produce sunburn on protected skin with sunscreen lotion to the energy required to produce sunburn on unprotected skin. Basically it just means greater the SPF value sunburn protection increases. I personally would love to use products with SPF more than 30, but for a normal indoor day SPF 15 should also work. But hey ,I do not want to spend money for the same product twice.
* Always buy sunscreen with SPF greater than 30 only.
*Make sure you buy products only if you see “broad-spectrum” , else it will protect you only from UVB rays ( UV rays are of two kind UVA and UVB). You need protection from both.
*Make sure you use a water resistant sunscreen product.
*Apply to every part exposed to Sun, the right quantity for face is 2 finger length and make sure you apply face, ears, neck and even the back of your neck.
* No matter what the SPF is it needs to be reapplied every 2hours.
* Only apply at the end of your skin care regimen. A lot of variety of sunscree products are available in the market which are sprays and lotions.
Personally prefer lotions more. Look into some of my favorite SS lotions….
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Light fluid face sunscreen with SPF 60. It has a moisturizer with it and another product with hyaluronic acid and moisturizer, both products also hydrate skin and is one of the best option, affordable easily available in most of the stores.
Cetaphil pro oil absorbing Moisturizer with SPF 30. As you all know cetaphil is great product for sensitive skin, so is this sunscreen. It gives you a non-greasy feel.
Paula’s choice prime serum with SPF 30 is great choice for those who wear make up.
Some of the other products that I have tried and was satisfied is products from Murad and Clinique….expensive but worth it.
